Precise Translation

I’ve loved communication and languages as far back as I can remember. Even though I was raised only in Spanish at home, I was also educated in English, Catalan and Galician. Besides, I took French, German and Russian in college. At present, I’m working on mastering my Hebrew.

When I was 14, I decided I’d become a professional translator and interpreter. Years later, I graduated with a BA from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB):

► Major in Translation and Interpreting from English into Catalan and Spanish
► Minor in Linguistic and Cultural Studies in French, German and Russian.

One of the things I learned in college was that to deliver a quality translation, you have to produce an equivalent that conveys the same meaning as the original. To accomplish that, you have to make sure that you know what you’re doing. It actually takes more than being bilingual to translate correctly.

I remember I started translating songs from English into Spanish at a very young age. Professionally, my career took off in 2004. I’d often perform translation, editing and interpreting tasks in the context of customer service as a salaried employee.

After graduating from college, I launched my freelance career by creating BPM Traducciones in 2011. Along with my business partner, I managed a brand that offered, among others, translation services in English, French, Catalan, and Spanish. Our clientele included: AudioProjects, Copisa, Delphi, Ficosa, Louis Vuitton, Tatay, and Volpak.

One of my most fruitful collaborations was working with Galeria Àlex Telese. This art gallery hired my services to translate brochures from Spanish into English for several artists, including Iñaki Torres and Damaso Reyes.

In 2016, I relocated from Barcelona to Chicago. Ever since, I’ve been providing translation services to an expanding clientele, from industries as diverse as the arts, banking, education, gastronomy, healthcare, law, marketing, and technology sectors. Although I’d rather keep my client portfolio as confidential as possible, I can certainly reveal that my list includes companies such as:

► American Jewish University
► Banco Sabadell
► Covenant Health
► Dell
► Google
► GoPro
► Intel
► Nike

In 2017, I became certified as a translator (ENG>SPA) by the American Translators Association (ATA). This certification is one of the industry’s most respected and recognized credentials. It seeks to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and recognize translators who possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality translations.
